Poor Thing and her dreams
...and they laughed when she said she'd be something more....
...that she'd be something
better.
that was their first mistake there.
they thouht her useless, but she knew better...
she had a reason worth living and fighting for...
[at least we thought so]
not that it mattered to them.
they were so deadset on believing she was nothing.
poor thing...
one can only take so much...
so she put her dreams way. locked them up in a little box.
she pulled her shades down tight so she wouldn't be urged to wish on those fickle stars.
she told herself to just hang on tight, that'd it'd all work out in the end...
but poor thing
forgot.
soon the box no longer screamed to be open...
the shades stopped with their refusal to stay closed.
she flipped off a switch, and left this room, this room that once contained her life, and her passion, in perpetual darkness...
and they laughed,
because she was exactly where the wanted her.....
